The IPHC administers Pastor Care Initiative which is a grant from the Lilly Endowment.
PASTOR CARE INITIATIVE INFORMATION
“Now” Grants address the most pressing need a pastor may have.
This can include student loans, medical bills, debt relief, etc.
“Later” Grants address building retirement for pastors.
The following apply to both type of grants:
+ Grants are available to IPHC Pastors Only.
+ Grants are only available to individuals who are compensated by the church and carry the title “pastor” as a part of their role.
+ Grants are only available to documented U.S. Citizens.
+ Grants must be matched by either the local church, conference or another outside organization.
- The grant is $2000 Maximum.
- Receipts or itemized bills must be provided to validate the debt.
- In some cases a 1099 will be issued to the pastor.
- The church/pastor must establish a Guidestone Retirement Account with the IPHC if they don’t already have one.
- The church board must participate in online training sessions to qualify for this grant.
- The grant begins when a church deposits $100 monthly into the pastor’s Guidestone Account.
- PCI will match that donation monthly up to 36 months.
- The church must verify that the monthly deposits are being made.
